- Lakeshore has over 550 km of roads to clear in the winter. During snow events, priority is given to higher travelled roads as well as Emergency routes. This means that subdivision roads are plowed after the main roads are clear. Please be patient, we will get to your area as soon as we can
- The Town is subject to adhere to the Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Highways when clearing snow

- Things to remember during a snow event:
- In order to provide optimum service to the residents on your street and for the safety of operations we would appreciate it if vehicles, trailers, etc. were moved or parked in the driveway. This provides a clear path for our Operators and allows a safer road surface. We would like to advise that it is unlawful under Section 170 (12) of the Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1990, which states: "Despite the other provisions of this section, no person shall park or stand a vehicle on a highway in such a manner as to interfere with the movement of traffic or the clearing of snow from the highway." If vehicles are blocking the roadway, Public Works will have no choice but to arrange to have them towed at the owner's expense.
- Ensure garbage & recycle bins are not placed on the roadway or placed behind a snowbank where they cannot be seen.
- Unfortunately, from time to time, our snow plows do damage rural mailboxes. The Municipality of Lakeshore is happy to provide a replacement mailbox free of charge. Just call our offices to let us know if this occurs.
- The Town clears a number of sidewalks/pathways in the Municipality
