Purpose of Meeting
Council will consider a Zoning By-law Amendment to prohibit Short-Term Rental (STR) Accommodations within the Municipality of Lakeshore. STRs are a secondary commercial use providing overnight accommodations on a residential property for a period of fewer than 28 consecutive nights. They are distinct from secondary dwelling units, traditional Bed and Breakfast Establishments, individual rooms rented to individuals for an extended period of time, or commercial overnight accommodations like hotels, motels or resorts.
Council will consider an amendment to Lakeshore Zoning By-law 2-2012, as amended (File: ZBA-14-2023), under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O.1990, c.P.13.

Any person may make written representation in support of or in opposition to the proposed amendment. If you wish to make written comments or be notified of the decision of the Municipality of Lakeshore, you must make a written request to the attention of:

Right to Appeal
If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Municipality of Lakeshore to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Municipal Clerk of the Municipality of Lakeshore before the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Municipal Clerk of the Municipality of Lakeshore before the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
