Background Information
In 2021, the Municipality contracted Bezaire Partners to provide a preliminary design for St. Clair Shores Park. The overall layout and elements identified in the design serve as a starting point for the community engagement process. The design will also be presented during the December 7 Virtual Engagement Session and help guide the discussion about additional park amenities.
The 2016 Parks Master Plan classified St Clair Shores Park as a "Neighbourhood Park." Neighbourhood Parks are defined as:
Larger than parkettes with additional program components. There is also a secondary Neighbourhood Parks with Sports classification. Aside from the organized sports opportunities, the parks provide the same access to recreation and leisure for their surrounding neighbourhoods. Neighbourhood parks are seasonal parks that are closed during the winter months. All neighbourhood parks include the following.
- Tree canopy (sense of place)
- Seating (choices – benches/boulders)
- Trash/recycling
- Tables (picnic or café)
- Play equipment (including alternative play opportunities)
- Internal trails (if warranted)
- Sports fields (if applicable)
