Suggestions to inform improvements for future budgets
Lakeshore is seeking feedback on how to improve the municipality’s budget decision-making process and newly-introduced interactive Budget app. The Budget Feedback Survey is available online at Lakeshore.ca/BudgetSurvey.
Lakeshore Council gave their final stamp of approval to the 2024 Budget at the Regular Meeting on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. The Budget features the lowest tax rate increase in the region at 2.97%, which will add $54 per year ($4.50 per month) to the municipal portion of property tax bills.
The draft and final budgets were presented with an interactive, digital application to improve transparency and the user experience.
“We modernized our budget presentation this year and we’d like to know what residents think and how it can be improved in 2025 and beyond,” said Justin Rousseau, Lakeshore’s Corporate Leader – Chief Financial Officer. “Feedback from stakeholders is a critical part of our ongoing efforts to improve Lakeshore’s services, and we appreciate everyone who takes the time to respond.”
The short survey asks respondents to share their experience with using the Budget app as well as watching Council’s deliberations. The survey will remain open until the Fall.
