Project part of Community Support Agreement with Hydro One
Last week’s Remembrance Day ceremonies in Comber took place at the newly-improved war memorial in the heart of the community, a project made possible by the Community Support Agreement between Lakeshore and Hydro One.
The memorial project is one of the first to be completed under the CSA. The work includes landscaping, lighting, new signage, four standard benches and four custom-made poppy benches, as well as new concrete throughout the memorial.
“While Remembrance Day serves as an annual reminder of the important role Canadian veterans played in our country’s history, this project will help to commemorate their sacrifices on a year-round basis for residents in Comber and throughout Lakeshore," said Mayor Tracey Bailey.
“Hydro One invests in projects that foster vibrancy, wellbeing and growth in communities like the Municipality of Lakeshore where we live and work,” said Sonny Karunakaran, Vice President, Strategic Projects and Partnerships. “As the southwest grows, we’ll continue to build partnerships whenever we build infrastructure that supports a clean and sustainable future.”
Additional announcements about other projects supported by the Hydro One Community Support Agreement are expected.
